**New Compass Form Now Available - April 1, 2019**

The MDS/Compass is required for assessment of SADS participants for the NYSOFA directly funded SADS programs. The new COMPASS is now available for use. Starting April 1, 2019, any assessments should be completed using the new form.

For all other programs, the use of the COMPASS is not a requirement but a useful tool for use in care receiver assessments.

Webinar: Northeast ADA Center - The ADA & Aging Americans (pre-recorded)

This webinar will discuss the intersection of America’s aging population and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As the American population ages and more individuals join the ranks of senior citizens, more Americans inevitably will have disabilities, and in turn, benefit from this landmark civil rights law. Title I of the ADA, which covers employment, requires that reasonable accommodations be made available to qualified senior workers with disabilities. Titles II and III of the ADA mandate access to programs, goods, and services by people with disabilities, including requirements that largely benefit older American’s as they participate in community life. We will review how these various ADA regulations benefit an aging population by discussing several key areas of the law that directly impact older Americans.

Webinar: Changing Family Roles and Relationships in Family Caregiving (pre-recorded)

Family caregivers encounter many challenges, but one of the most difficult issues is understanding and managing family relationships. This webinar explores factors which impact family roles and relationships, along with reasons for conflict among family members. Emphasis will be placed on strategies to prevent tension and on enhancing communication between family members. This one-hour webinar includes a 15-minute question-and-answer period after the presentation.
